Keeping it Local

A red banner stretched across the back page ad in this fall’s print edition reading: “How’s this for keeping local: Just say “SCOUT” at the time you buy with us in 2009, and you’ll get a $100 gift certificate to spend at Somerville businesses advertising in this issue of Somerville Scout.” I just want to commend the folks at Manny’s Auto Center (463 McGrath Highway) for thinking of their fellow, local-business owners. It’s this kind of community support and spirit that make Somerville such a vibrant and welcoming city.

Una bandera roja se extendía por el anuncio de una pagina de nuevo en la lectura de la edición de este otoño diciendo: “Como es esto para mantener local: Solo diga “SCOUT” en el momento de comprar con nosotros en el 2009, y obtendrá un certificado de regalo de $100 para gastar en empresas de Somerville publicando en este numero de Somerville Scout.” Solo quiero felicitar a la gente del Manny’s Auto Center (463 McGrath Highway) para el pensamiento de sus compañeros, los propietarios de negocios locales.
