Exercise for a Cause at The Training Room

Somerville fitness studio The Training Room will host a charity Spin- A-Thon in support of The Breast Cancer Fund on Saturday, July 24th, 12pm-6pm.

July marks the one year anniversary of the studio’s grand opening. As part of the birthday festivities, the Spin-A-Thon will be held outdoors on the street in front of the facility (691A Somerville Ave), with live music from the band Felix Brown.

Membership is not required to register, and the  process is pretty easy: click here, scroll down the class calendar for the July 24th event, then pick any 15 minute segment (you’re welcome to sign up for as many time slots as you’d like). If you’ve registered for a class or event at The Training Room before, just sign in with your username and password, and if you haven’t, it’s easy to create an account (just follow the instructions listed). And voila! A bike will be reserved for you.

All proceeds from the spin-a-thon will go to The Breast Cancer Fund, so donations in any amount are appreciated.

If you’re interested in more of what the Training Room has to offer, they’re also holding an outdoor summer bootcamp on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at either 6am or 7am at Conway Park on Somerville Ave. Bootcamp sessions will include training with bands, medicine balls, agility ladders, hurdles and even playground equipment for a total body workout suitable for all fitness levels. It’s $15 for a single bootcamp session or $120 for the remaining 11 sessions this month (which would save you $45).
