Donations Indicate Somerville Overwhelmingly Backs Barack Obama

Hardly a shocker, but President Barack Obama has out-fundraised former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney by a very, very wide margin among Somerville residents. The Boston Business Journal developed this nifty tool to let you see who in your town has donated to which presidential candidate. In Somerville, 1,300 residents have donated to Obama. The former governor? 27.

As for big contributions, 45 ‘Villens have donated at least $1,000 to Obama. Romney has not registered any $1,000 donations from Somerville. Romney’s biggest Somerville donor gave $500. The BBJ’s tool reveals the names of the individual donors. We’ll turn you to their site to see who in the city has donated to which presidential candidate thus far.

  1. If Obama loses this election, you can blame/thank the Right for bamboozling him. How is it ethical that an entire news network questions the President’s citizenship for four years to create doubt in voters while a fringe element of the far right demonizes and degrades him? Most of this is financed by the rich who want to keep their stranglehold on the flow of wealth in our country.
